Planning for a Successful Shutdown

A new litter of puppies means new members to our canine division! The circle of life continues with Bronx (our latest security recruit, pictured with Rudolf Baz) on his first training day, guarding Santa's sleigh! Retired Baz is showing Bronx the ropes, proving you can get an old dog to teach new tricks!

To create our elite canine section, each puppy is trained three times a day. The training is to the highest of standards, with the best people across the UK, using NASDU-qualified professional trainers only!

MPS has many examples of industrial, retail, and commercial sites struggling with crime gangs. All our security crew with canine partners are former ex-service officers, trained to correctly detain and arrest offenders, compiling evidence when prosecutions are warranted.

MPS has worked for 40 years in the security business and has been constantly evolving to meet new law-breaking trends. Crime is constantly changing. The need to have a canine unit has, subsequently, developed over the last decade to offer a steadfast and complete solution.

Seasonal shutdowns (E.g., Christmas and Easter) mean many sites are even more susceptible to unauthorised trespass, theft, violence, and arson. Additionally, there are areas on many sites that cannot be covered by traditional CCTV due to a lack of power availability. MPS’s equipment supplier, IMC, launched The Watchman, a battery/solar rapid deployment tower, to further assist with these problems in remote sites.

In some cases, detection and identification will not deter certain criminals. Many do not see visual detection on camera as a sufficient deterrent to stop their offending. They will however avoid sites with a manned canine presence and a highly trained security officer. Electronic security is great and, when linked to a manned service, it becomes a formidable force.

How can you reliably keep your site secure and monitored?

If you need a presence at any time, consider the MPS Canine Unit as your belt & braces solution. Ask us how we turned problem locations into crime-free zones with a combination of high-tech security equipment and professional guards with dogs.

The MPS high-visibility vehicles, noticeably indicating a canine patrol unit is on site, coupled with one or more security guards patrolling with highly trained dogs, is the right level of visible deterrent to tip the balance to discourage the offenders.

Each guard patrols with both radio and body-worn cameras linked to our NSI Gold, Category 2, Alarm Monitoring Station. Having the latest technology means just one click of a button will ensure an immediate police response, sending GPS information, and opening a 2-way recorded audio channel for assistance (and for use as evidence further down the line).

Having the Canine Unit on site over a period of time renders the location as one to avoid by gangs of criminals. Once the location is deemed too highly secured to attempt to breach the boundaries, it begins to become a less desirable target, with offenders moving on.

You can’t stop crime, but you can move it.

Security does work!
